What is your ‘alternative’ job title?

How would you sum up your role in one sentence?
Managing everything that computes and the access to and from it.
Who is your geek idol?
What are your OS and browser of choice?
My favourite OS would be Solaris, but I haven’t used it for a while. I’m not really fussed about browser, it tends to be whatever is available in the environment I’m in. If I can, I would normally download Chrome.
What open source tool could you not live without?
I don’t know if you can call Linux a tool. If I had to be more specific, I’d say bash.
What is your favourite gadget at the moment?
I’m in the market for a new gadget right now. Father Christmas might be bringing me a quadcopter I can attach my camera to.
What is your most used app?
“terminal”
What music do you listen to whilst working?
I like to have the player on random. Which means anything from classical to dance and jazz to metal. I’m not really into any “pop” music from the last 10 years or so. Nils Frahm is one of my latest discoveries. A sort of fusion of classical piano and modern electronic music. Radio BBC 6music is about the only radio station I listen to.
Where do you find motivation?
If things are missing, I normally find them down the back of the sofa.
Are you a cat or dog person?
I’ve got 3 cats. They’re enough trouble without having dogs too…
