XMPP Summit Day 1

Today I am attending my first XMPP Summit.

As many of you know, I am no coder. So, what am I doing here? Late last year I was elected onto the XSF (XMPP Standards Foundation) Board – and no, this was not or my technical input. I am here to do what I do best; communications.

My first project is the XMPP website. Not so much a redesign as a start-all-over-again. The XMPP community is small, but mighty. I am not  exaggerating when I say the amount of intelligence in this room today is astounding.

My aim for the summit is to soak up the community spirit, take with me the ideas and goodness that are already coming out of this summit and share it in a way that welcomes people to participate and understand what is being done.

For a non-techie, this summit is a sink or swim situation. I am just about keeping my head above water.

Now, back to the summit… more to follow.
